FAQs
Why should I switch?
Consumers in the UK are free to choose their gas and electricity suppliers. The best deals offer substantial savings, and shopping around with our comparison tool will help you find out how much you could save. It's just like looking for a better deal on your home insurance or motor insurance.
What do I need?
To get a quote takes just a few minutes. Tell us your postcode, the name of your gas and electricity suppliers, how much you spend per year, and we'll tell you how much you could save.
How does your service work?
Our service compares over 5,000 different and constantly updated energy prices, from all the main suppliers in England, Scotland and Wales.
What happens after I submit an application?
We will confirm your application by e-mail and forward your details securely to your chosen supplier. The supplier will start organising the switch and will contact you to confirm when the service will start.
What are the advantages to me?
This is a fully comprehensive, fully independent, and fully impartial service. It is fast, friendly, secure and free. We pull together all the data and information from the utility industry to make your life easier. Within 10 minutes you could end up saving over £230 a year on your energy bills.
How do you keep your prices up to date?
We monitor all gas and electricity suppliers, and all tariffs, on a continuous basis. In most cases, we receive information before tariff changes are actually made. In this way we aim to provide you with the most comprehensive and accurate source of service and price data in the market.
What about suppliers customer service levels?
You should consider reviewing information about the customer service level of suppliers before making the decision to switch. Complaints against energy suppliers are collected by the independent energy watchdog EnergyWatch.
Does your service include historical tariff information?
Historical tariffs are tariffs which you can no longer sign-up for, but which you may still be being billed on. A typical example of a historical tariff are 'Capped' tariffs. Suppliers often offer differently priced versions of the same historical tariffs. This may cause difficulties in determining the tariff unit rates that apply to your bill, even if you know the name of the tariff that you are on.
